In 2015, I met with the gorgeous Lily who is the brains (and beauty) behind the American clothing brand Nativen. She started the brand in Brooklyn where she resides (most of the time, when she’s not in her stylish Brooklyn pad, she’s half way across the world in Milan, styling for runway fashion shows, she’s also a hugely successful in multi media, prop and set styling and fashion styling for editorial, ). Her philosophy is
“We believe that you don’t need more stuff. You need better stuff”.
Which is something that rings very deep and true in me. What they stand for is well-made, quality, practical and stylish pieces, they call is – “utilitarian sportswear”, and they are passionate about developing the kinds of products you will love to live and work in. I love that.
Anyway! She came along to the shop, and asked me a bunch of interesting questions (I had think hard on some of them!) I was bit nervous, but I soon warmed to her sweet and friendly vibe. You can read the result of our coffee together one chilly January morning in our Ashburton studio 🙂
